With the deregulation of the UK electricity supply market approaching. There was a need to prepare the IT elements of an established electricity provider for deregulation.

Approach

	Establish a number of change management projects relating to the new IT requirements for the deregulation of the industry
	Conduct interviews with business representatives to identify the essential business requirements for the Electricity Supply, Energy Trading and Mass Distribution markets
	Introduce and conduct requirement workshops with the business departments, which enabled  the identification of  processes to be used for dealing with customers after deregulation
	Produce a cross-reference database showing the various business processes, at all levels
	Produce, validated, process maps of business processes and supporting documentation, to allow workflow models to be developed

Outcomes
Completion of preparations. in time for electricity supply deregulation.

Improved understanding of business processes.
