CASE STUDY -
CULTURE IN INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
Organisation
European ATC Service Providers
Requirement
Partners involved in this complex international collaborative IT project often had specific views on the way the project should be managed, which were different from other partners. This lead to some difficulties in agreeing the approaches to managing parts of the project. Unless the differences could be resolved, they
could cause delays and disrupt the harmony of the project.
Approach
 |
Discuss with
the partners their views on the different ways of managing critical aspects of
projects |
 |
Identify realistic management options for the current
project |
 |
Identify any common elements in the
available options |
 |
Develop
and agree management methods based around common elements |
 |
Discuss new approaches with key resources and obtain
agreement |
Outcomes
A better understanding of partners views on project management was obtained. This improved the harmony of the project.
Once the different views were understood, agreement was obtained on the most appropriate ways to manage the various parts of the project.
