Requirement
As part of the provision of managed telecom services, there was a need to define a new billing system architecture for global calling cards. 

The architecture would be based on the development of client server applications. In addition, a new customer service front-end application, and a new billing application, together with customer interfaces, would be needed.

Approach

Manage the development of a three tier client server application, using various applications such as NT 4.0, VB6, SQL Server 6.5, MTS, Com and Dcom. 
Define target business areas for direct marketing of new global calling cards. 
Development of training modules for Call Centre agents, fulfillment and customer service staff on all aspects of the Customer Management System. 
Prepare and dispatch first runs of direct marketing materials.
Produce the first bills from the new billing system.
Ensure operational support was provided from the start date of the live system.

Outcomes
Completion of all Call Centre agent training, in time for new direct marketing campaign.

Successful migration of 140,000 customers onto new system.
