International work will involve resources from different nations working together. Resources from the nations can help to improve the success of international projects by:

	Introducing new cultures
	Providing different perspectives
	Resolving language issues
	Utilising new skills mixes

However, There can be differences and difficulties encountered by the resources from different nations, when working together, such as:

	Lifestyle differences
	Reward and remuneration
	Work ethic
	Working practices

The differences between resources from different nations can be especially noticeable when different nationalities are located in one country, which often happens when working on international projects. Care must be taken to minimise any difficulties. Ways of avoiding, or overcoming difficulties can include:

	Briefings on cultural differences
	Discussion groups to identify and resolve concerns
	Role playing and acting
	Team building exercises

Therefore, when selecting resources for international work, care must be taken to ensure that they will be able to perform well in an international environment. When selecting resources, background and interviews can provide useful information on their ability to work in an international

Once resources have been selected, a comprehensive training programme, which covers issues likely to be encountered by resources, should also be undertaken.
